Hi, I’m Fatmanur.
Music and performance has always been a huge part of my life. Born 1984 in Istanbul, I quickly found my passion in music and how easily I could express myself through sound. Already at the age of 7, I was performing with the Turkish Radio and TV Station’s Children’s Choir.
My deep love for music brought me to pursue it as an education at the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory as an 8-year-old violinist. After years of hard work, through the trust and support of Prof. Lukas David, I got the opportunity to study in Hochschule für Musik Detmold Germany under him and Prof. Eckard Fischer. I went on to complete my Chamber Music Master's Degree with the Auryn Quartet, under Prof. Jens Opermann as a main subject teacher.
After my graduation I played in various chamber music ensembles icluding the Detmold Chamber Music Orchestra and Ring Trio. As a part of David Ensemble I toured the world to play concerts in Thailand, in Greece at the Megaro Mousikis in Athens, in Turkisch cities like Ankara, Izmir and Istanbul as well as in Detmold, southern Germany ans Austria. During my studies I already worked as a violin teacher and I continued this work afterwards, which besides music made me become pedagogue.
In 2015 I moved to Berlin to further develop my artistic knowledge. I had private lessons with the professors Avri Levithan and Tomasz Tomaszewski, where I made a lot of progress with my playing. Apart from that I continued playing classical violin, but I involved myself as well in band projects like Motion Room, who combine electronical and acoustic elements. In the year 2016 I experienced a setback when I broke both of my wrists in an accident. I couldn’t play neither violin nor piano for quite a while. Luckily the operations went fine and I was healing quickly, so I could involve myself in further projects and went on with teaching. I had an inspiring and beautiful time with the Turkish band Gazino Neukölln and the Ensemble Bridge Of Sound from Detmold. I am looking forward to upcoming projects!

My music for you!
I focus on using acustic violin, vocals, recently synthesizers and different elements to createmy music. I record and compose my own samples and during the performance I combine thecolors of East and West with contemporary elements in an improvisational and experimentalapproach. The resulting fusion can sometimes be unsettling, sometimes melancholic andevoke meditative states. I add different effects and rhythms to diversify the sounds producedby the melodies. Since this is a musical performance, the creative process is fed by myemotions, thoughts and excitement at the time so it cannot be replicated exactly and eachstage experience is unique for me and the listener. Each performance is a variation of eachother but also a premiere and another story. My aim is to awaken unexpressed and deeplyfelt emotions that have been silenced by the system we live in, there have no time to be foundfor self and questioning the deep loneliness and the existence, and to create a 'safe space' forthe listener to feel.

Learn the Violin with me
My decades of experience in playing the violin has taught me that the love for music has to be shared. That’s why I am deeply passionate about teaching my music philosophy to others, and helping all of us see playing as a form of meditation and therapy. For the past 17 years, I have been conducting private lessons catering to the individual learning curves and needs of my students, making sure that I offer what benefits them the most in terms of improvement and healing.
I teach individuals or even pairs in my music studio in Neukölln, Berlin, or offer home visits.Instead of sticking to a standard pedagogy, I prefer to tune my lessons to the age and motor skills of each student.
